In July 2025, another water project was launched in Cameroon. The project involves the construction of a borehole in Bindoumba, a Baka Pygmy village in Djoum, in the Southern Region of Cameroon, Central Africa.
As the Franciscan Family in Cameroon continually works to improve the living conditions of poor and vulnerable people, particularly communities such as the Baka Pygmies, it recognized the need for this project.
The new borehole is expected to improve living conditions in the area and help reduce the risk of waterborne diseases that threaten this ethnic minority. The OFM Cap Custody of St. Francis of Assisi in Cameroon has committed to monitoring the Bindoumba water project, which is under the responsibility of the OFS National Council of Cameroon.
The amount donated to the project is EUR 7,470.
